Mexican joy is a very common dessert in our country, with this recipe you can prepare delicious homemade joys to share.

Ingredients

4 servings
  • 3 3/4 kilos of amaranth
  • 2 1/2 kilos of sugar
  • 5 cups of Water

    Preparation

    Wet the amaranth and drain. Let it dry in the sun or in the oven at a very low temperature.
    Toast the amaranth in a clay comal over regular heat.
    Re-clean to release all the shell. Use a sieve to do it.
    Put a saucepan on medium heat and add the sugar with the water. Move until dissolved and boil to the point of strand. Remove from the heat and add the amaranth.
    Mix until a paste is formed.
    Use galvanized metal rings of the size you want (preferably 3 centimeters wide). Lay them on a clean, damp wooden table.
    Serve the mixture in the rings and press with wooden circles or plates. Take them out and let them cool completely.

    ligth hola, quisiera saber si se pueden hacer las alegrias co otro tipo de endulsante, ya que se que sirven para adelgazar, pero con anta azucar ya se le quita lo ligth, por lo demas gracias por la receta, quedan riquisimas...
