Ingredients

  • 2 1/3 cups of flour (350 g) for the dough
  • 1 1/4 cups of Butter (150 g) cold, cut into cubes, for the dough
  • 1 Cup of powder sugar (100 g) for the dough
  • 1 piece of egg yolk for the dough
  • 2 spoonfuls of vanilla for the dough
  • 1 teaspoonful of Salt for the dough
  • 10 pieces of apple
  • 3/4 of Cup of sugar to marinate the apples
  • 1/2 Cup of raw sugar to marinate the apples
  • 2 spoonfuls of ground cinnamon to marinate the apples
  • 1/2 teaspoonful of nutmeg to marinate the apples
  • to taste of cajeta - Mexican carmelized goat milk sweet to decorate
  • to taste of vanilla ice cream To accompany

    Preparation

    Preheat the oven to 180 ° C (356F).
    In a bowl mix all the ingredients of the dough until you get a sandy mixture. Do not love too much, wrap in plastic and refrigerate 30 minutes.
    On a clean and floured table, with the help of a rolling pin, spread out the dough and place it on a cake mold 20 cm in diameter, make sure that the dough is well adhered to the mold. With a fork, chop the dough and refrigerate.
    Bake the base of the cake covered with aluminum foil and chickpeas or beans to make weight, for 10 minutes, remove and reserve.
    Core the apples and cut four pieces into slices medium thick. The other 6 cut them into very thin half moons for decoration.
    Place the apples in a bowl and mix with the refined and mashed sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg. Marinate for 30 minutes.
    Drain the apples with the help of your absorbent paper towel from the brand Bounty ®. Place the apple slices on the crust base, and on top of it form several roses with the half moons.
    Bake the cake for 20 minutes covered or until the dough is well cooked, remove from the oven and rest a few minutes. Serve the cake with vanilla ice cream and cajeta.
