Well, always for Christmas I make this recipe because they always ask me because they love it! I learned this recipe in high school in the cooking workshop that I loved so much, because I love cooking and more, pastry! And since then it's one of my family's favorites! It's super easy and very rich!

Preparation
Chop the apple into squares, put the butter to melt in a pot, add the apples, sugar and cinnamon. It is left on medium heat for half an hour (apróx) or until the apples soften a little, moving from time to time and almost at the end the liquor is added. if you want you can put raisins that you can previously let marinate in the liquor, (I recommend the raisins).
Stretch the puff pastry to half a cm thick forming a rectangle. With a slotted spoon, strain a little and place in the middle the mixture of apples leaving about 10 cm at the sides (Here you can also add ground walnut). From each of the sides we cut skewed strips. The upper and lower side are folded and the strips are bent from one side to the other in a simple braid. It is varnished with egg and sprinkled with sugar.
Bake at 180 ° C on a tray covered with aluminum foil or simply greased so that it does not stick if the liquid comes out a little. Bake for 40 to 45 min. or until it browns.
Serve accompanied by an ice cream ball of vanilla.
