This rich tasting apple strudel is very easy to prepare since you can make it with store bought frozen puff pastry.

Ingredients

6 servings
  • 250 grams of puff pastry thawed
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of Water
  • 2 spoonfuls of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of flour
  • 1/4 of tablespoon of ground cinnamon
  • 2 pieces of apple peeled apples and thin slices
  • 2 spoonfuls of raisin
  • powder sugar

    Preparation

    Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F)
    In a deep bowl beat the egg and water with a balloon whisk.
    In separate deep bowl mix the sugar, flour and cinnamon. Add the apples and raisins and mix well.
    Place the puff pastry on a clean, lightly floured surface. With a rolling pin, extend the puff pastry to a rectangle of approx. 30 x 24 cm. (10 x 11 inches approx.)
    Place the short side of the puff pastry towards you and with a spoon place the apple filling in the lower half of the puff pastry, leaving an edge down to 2 cm (.78 inch) without filling.
    Roll the dough starting with the side closest to you and place on a baking sheet with the side where the dough ends down so that it does not open when cooking.
    Seal the sides with your fingers and with a pastry brush cover the cake with the egg and water mixture.
    With a knife you can decorate small diagonal cracks in the upper part, without cutting through the filling.
    Bake the cake for 35 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 20 minutes.

    PRESENTATION

    Sprinkle some confectioner's sugar and serve.

    TIPS

    It is important to mix apples and raisins well with the flour mixture.
