Ingredients

6 servings
  • 2 cups of dry marsala
  • 2 cups of Water
  • 3/4 of Cup of sugar
  • 2 rajas of cinnamon
  • 2 vanilla pods cut
  • 2 spoonfuls of Orange zest
  • 6 pieces of pear peeled with their stems

    Preparation

    Mix 2 cups of dry Marsala, 2 cups of water, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and orange scrape in a large pot. Wait for the water to boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Add the peeled pears and reduce the heat to medium-low.
    Using a large spoon, transfer the pears to a platter. Boil the liquid until it is reduced to a cup and 1/2, about 12 minutes. Put the reduced liquid on the pears and cool until they are cold (at least 3 hours).
    Divide the pears into 6 deep plates, put the syrup (strained) over the pears and decorate with light whipped cream if desired.
