Preparation
In a large pot combine honey, sugar, lemon juice, cloves and 4 cups of water.
Peel the pears and with a knife or a tool to make melon balls remove the lower dark part of the pears. Put the pears in the honey mixture and with a spoon cover them with the mixture.
Allow the mixture to boil, reduce to a low heat, cover the pot and cook for 15-20 minutes or until the pears are tender when chopped with a knife.
Remove the pears from the syrup and place them in a deep bowl.
Meanwhile, peel the oranges and add to the syrup. Return the syrup to a boil, reduce to a low heat, cover the pot and cook for 5 minutes.
With a spoon remove the oranges from the syrup and put them in the same container of the pears. Pour syrup over them, cover and refrigerate.
