  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/4 cups cocoa
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetal oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cups Red food dye
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons baking soda
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter
  • 340 grams cream cheese
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 3/4 tablespoons vanilla essence
  • sprinkles, to decorate


Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
In an electric mixer beat the sugar and oil. Add the eggs and beat well between each egg.
Add the red coloring and the vanilla, continue beating. Add the flour, cocoa, milk, salt and 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and continue whisking.
In a small bowl, mix the remaining vinegar with the baking soda. Add to the dough and continue whisking for 10 minutes.
Grease the round refractory baking pancake with unsalted butter. Pour the dough.
Bake the cake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
While baking the cake, prepare the bitumen. In an electric mixer beat the butter and cream cheese until it is spongy (3 minutes). Add the sugar and vanilla and beat for 5 more minutes.
Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool before unmolding. Cover the cake with the cream cheese bitumen and add the sparks of colors, preferably red, pink and white.
