Ingredients

8 portions
  • 1 bottle Red wine, 750 ml
  • 1 Great Value® Cinnamon Stick
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 2 black pepper, fat woman
  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Great Value®
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cups Great Value® Refined Sugar
  • 1 branch peppermint, to decorate

Preparation

In a pot over medium heat, heat the wine with spices. Cook until reduced to 1/3, for approximately 40 min. Strain and cool.
Meanwhile, in another pot over low heat, heat the milk with the cream to beat without reaching boil.
Beat the yolks with the sugar until they sponge and change color to pale yellow. Tempera this mixture adding a little of the hot milk mixture, beat immediately with the help of a balloon whisk.
Add the tempered yolks to the pot with milk and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the preparation thickens. Take care that the preparation does not boil. Chill
Mix the previous preparation with wine reduction and place in a steel bowl. Freeze about 4 hours or until you get a solid consistency, mixing from time to time to distribute the cold.
Serve with fresh mint leaves.
