An original dessert is this Sweet Tamale Braided Cake, perfect for your Christmas season celebrations.   • 1 cup butter, for the dough
  • 3/4 cups sugar, for the dough
  • 2 cups cornmeal, for tamale, for the dough
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda, for the dough
  • 1 cup Water, for the mass
  • enough vegetal color additive, pink
  • 2 cups cream cheese
  • 1 cup blackberry jam
  • 1 cup Pineapple in syrup, cut into cubes
  • enough blackberry, to decorate


Beat the butter with the sugar until it is soft, add the flour, the baking powder little by little, add the water little by little and color it with the pink dye. Beat until you have a homogeneous mass.
Soften the cream cheese with the help of a spatula, place it in a pastry sleeve and reserve.
Pour half of the tamale dough into a previously greased and floured screw mold, spread well. With the help of a spoon make a groove in the middle and add the cream cheese, the blackberry jam, the pineapple and cover with the remaining dough.
Cover the mold with aluminum foil and bain-marie on the stove for about 1 hour or until cooked. Cools lightly and demolishes.
Unmold the tamale and decorate with cream cheese and blackberries, cut a slice and enjoy.

Grease the mold with butter and flour for the tamale to avoid sticking. It is important that you unmold when it is warm, and serve it immediately.
