It is a Dominican dessert that, although it takes a long time to prepare it, it is well worth sharing with family members.

Ingredients

6 servings
  • 1 Cup of Tender corn peeling and match
  • 4 cups of whole milk
  • 1 Cup of brown sugar
  • 3 rajas of cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoonful of Butter
  • 1 teaspoonful of Salt
  • 1 teaspoonful of vanilla extract optional

    Preparation

    Soak the corn overnight.
    Boil the corn in a pressure cooker until it is very soft (which will take about 45 minutes).
    Once the corn is soft, put it in a thick-bottomed pot, add the butter, milk, cinnamon and vanilla, if necessary you can add a little cold water, and cook over medium low heat until the liquids are reduced a bit.
    Move frequently so that it does not stick to the bottom, and add salt and sugar to taste. Boil until it takes the desired consistency.
    You can serve it hot, or chill it in the fridge before serving.

    TIPS

    You can decorate it with cinnamon chips or with raisins.
