These soft, fluffy and delicious corn leaf cajeta tamales accompanied with a little nut will be your perfect dessert for an afternoon and the best dumbbell of a delicious atolito. Adding cajeta to the dough gives it moisture and makes it have a much more pleasant consistency when eating them. This is a version of favorite sweet tamales from the Mexican palate since it has the perfume of anise, walnut and the sweetness of the cajeta.

Ingredients

10 servings
  • 8 cups of anise water (boil water with star anise)
  • 4 cups of Corn masa mix for tamales
  • 2 cups of lard
  • 1/2 Cup of sugar
  • 1 Cup of nut chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 Cup of Cajeta Coronado®
  • 1 bunch of tamal corn husk soaked in warm water so that they soften

    Preparation

    Place the cornmeal for tamales in a bowl and knead with the aniseed water to form a masita.
    In the blender, beat the butter with the sugar until it dissolves well. Add the dough that you formed in the bowl.
    Add to the preparation the walnut, baking powder Cajeta Coronado® until it is smooth and consistent.
    Fill the leaves with the dough of the blender and cook for 1 hour.

    PRESENTATION

    Serve with atole or hot chocolate.

    TIPS

    At the time of cooking your tamales you can put a coin in the bottom where the water goes when it starts to sound, it means that your tamalera has no water!

    Para una receta normal de tamales son 1 1/3 tazas de líquido , y 2/3 de manteca por cada 2 tazas de harina. Me parece excesiva el agua y la manteca de esta receta, sin embargo la haré con mis medidas y les platico... 😋
