Tamarind water is a very popular drink in Mexico, you can have it in most taco stands and restaurants, as it is very refreshing, with a tasty sweet and sour drink. Frost your glasses with chili powder and enjoy.

Ingredients

8 portions
  • 2 cups tamarind, peeled
  • 4 cups Water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 8 cups Water
  • to taste ice
  • to taste orange, sliced ​​to serve
  • 1/2 cups lemon juice, to frost
  • 1/2 cups chilli powder, to frost

Preparation

Heat a pot over medium heat with water and cook the tamarind until smooth. Remove from cooking, strain and cool. With your fingers, separate the pulp from the seeds.
Add the tamarind pulp to the blender with the sugar and water, blend and serve in a jug with ice cubes and orange slices.
Frost the glasses with the lime and chili powder, serve the water in the glasses with more ice and decorate with a sliced ​​orange.

PRESENTATION

Serve with slices of orange and frost with chili powder.

TIPS

Strain the pulp to avoid small uncomfortable residues in your water.
