In Mexico the horchata drink is a classic, made with rice with a touch of cinnamon and milk. You will find several versions that many prepare with mixing evaporated and condensed milk. Here we give you an easy and rich recipe.

Ingredients

8 portions
  • 2 cups rice
  • 3 cups Water, hot
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cups evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cups condensed milk
  • 4 cups Water
  • 2 teaspoons liquid vanilla
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder
  • to taste ice
  • to taste cinnamon stick

Preparation

In a bowl, soak the rice with the warm water for at least 2 hours.
Add to the blender the rice with the soaking water, the milk, the water, the vanilla essence, the sugar, the cinnamon and liquefy until obtaining a mixture without lumps. Strain and pour into a jar with ice cubes.
Serve the water in glasses and decorate with cinnamon sticks.

PRESENTATION

Serve in glasses and decorate with whole cinnamon.

TIPS

You can make horchata drink with almonds, coconut, oatmeal or combine it with strawberry is totally delicious.
