Lassi is a traditional Indian drink, which is often flavored with fruit ingredients from the area in which it is made. Thus, when using tejocote the recipe is adapted to the very particular taste of Mexicans during the Christmas season.

Ingredients

  • 250 milliliters milk
  • 250 milliliters yogurt
  • 500 grams Mexican hawthorn
  • sugar, to taste
  • rods cane, peeled
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Mexican hawthorn, in flakes or dehydrated slices to decorate

Preparation

Cook the tejocotes in water with sugar until they are soft.
Process / liquefy the tejocotes.
Blend milk with yogurt, mashed potatoes and salt.
Taste and add sugar to taste.
Refrigerate the lassi for 30 min
Serve lassi in glasses along with a cane stick with a tejocote flake stuck in it.
