Ingredients

1 portion
  • 100 grams rose petals, the roses must be at their best
  • 1 liter Rum, or brandy
  • 300 grams sugar, of cane or 500 grams if you wish sweeter
  • 1/2 liters Water
  • 50 drops orange blossom water

Preparation

We begin by putting in a saucepan the rose petals previously washed with the 1/2 liter of water and the sugar over moderate heat and from the moment we break the boil we counted 18 minutes, the saucepan should remain covered.
Once the time has elapsed, remove from the heat and add the drops of orange blossom water, stir a little and let rest until the next day.
The next day, add rum or brandy, mix well, and let rest two more days.
After two days, we strain the preparation in a cloth filter, bottle and leave to macerate for a month. Keep in mind to cover the bottle very well and protect it from the sun and heat.
After the month is ready to drink.

PRESENTATION

Serve in glasses.

TIPS

There are those who macerate the rose petals directly in the rum and two weeks later is when they add the other ingredients, and it makes sense since the common principle of the liquors is the maceration of the product in alcohol.
