The curing of the molcajete is essential to be able to use this traditional instrument of Mexican cuisine. Ingredients

0 portions
  • 1 tablespoon rice
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt
  • enough Water

Preparation

Grind the rice with the grain salt in the molcajete until it becomes a powder, it will turn gray because it is mixing with the impurities of the stone.
Remove the excess and add more rice and salt, repeating the operation until the powder comes out completely white.
Rinse off excess powder with water.
It is ready to use.

TIPS

Add the rice and salt little by little, depending on how dirty your molcajete looks, grinding simultaneously, then remove; carry out this operation as many times as necessary, when you finish grinding the rice and the salt should come out a completely white powder.
