The jalapeño mummies is a delicious snack, that the kids in the house will love. They are jalapeño poppers covered with puff pastry dough, with terrifying black olive eyes and spicy sauce. Perfect for the Halloween and Day of the Dead seasons.

Ingredients

4 portions
  • 10 jalapeño peppers, large in size
  • 2 cups chihuahua cheese, grated
  • 300 grams puff pastry
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 cup black olive, slice
  • sriracha sauce, to taste

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.
Cut the cuaresmeños chiles in half. With a spoon, remove the seeds.
Fill the chiles with the grated cheese.
Cut strips of puff pastry 0.5 cm by 20 cm long. Wrap the chiles with these strips, to simulate that the puff pastry are bandages.
Beat the egg with a spoonful of water.
Place the jalapeños on a tray. Varnish the jalapeños with the beaten egg.
Bake for 20 minutes or until puff pastry is golden brown.
Once you removed them from the oven, place 2 slices of olives in each chili as eyes. Inside the hole of the olive pour a little dot of hot sauce.

PRESENTATION

Place them on a white plate.

TIPS

Keep the puff pastry in the refrigerator until you go to work with it.
