These typical Chicken Sopes are a very common Mexican appetizer. It is usually served as a snack or a starter, although it is also an excellent option for breakfast. You can make a healthier version by substituting the base of maize for one of cactus.

Ingredients

2 portions
  • 4 Mexican sopes
  • 30 milliliters cream
  • 30 grams fresh cheese
  • 20 grams lettuce, cut into strips
  • 80 grams chicken, shredding
  • 50 grams refried beans, hot
  • enough spicy red sauce, or green, to taste

Preparation

Cook the chicken in a frying pan and the beans in a saucepan.
Heat the sopes in a comal.
On top of the sopes, put beans, chicken, cream, cheese, lettuce, sauce.
