These typical Chicken Sopes are a very common Mexican appetizer. It is usually served as a snack or a starter, although it is also an excellent option for breakfast. You can make a healthier version by substituting the base of maize for one of cactus.

The best thing about these Chicken Sopes is that you can add the ingredients that you like most like chorizo, chicharrón or guacamole.

Ingredients

2 portions
  • 4 sope shell
  • 30 milliliters cream
  • 30 grams fresh cheese
  • 20 grams lettuce, cut into strips
  • 80 grams chicken, shredding
  • 50 grams refried bean, hot
  • enough red hot sauce, or green, to taste

Preparation

Cook the chicken in a frying pan and the beans in a saucepan.
Heat the sopes in a comal.
On top of the sopes, put beans, chicken, cream, cheese, lettuce, sauce.
