Ingredients

4 portions
  • 1 kilo shrimp, raw, peeled and ground
  • 1/4 cups oil
  • 1/4 cups tortilla dough
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, milled
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon coriander seed, milled
  • salt, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons corn oil, for the caldillo
  • 1 onion, medium, finely chopped, for the caldillo
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped, for the caldillo
  • 4 carrots, peeled and cut into slices, for the caldillo
  • 2 potatoes, peeled and diced, for the caldillo
  • 2 poblano peppers, diced, for the caldillo
  • 3 tomatoes, without seeds and cut in squares, for the caldillo
  • 2 twigs oregano, for the caldillo
  • 2 leaves bay (laurel), for the caldillo
  • 2 liters Water, approximately, for the caldillo
  • salt, or chicken powder broth to taste, for the caldillo

Preparation

For the caldillo: in the oil the onion, the garlic, the carrots and the potatoes are smoked, the tomato is added and it is seasoned very well, the water is added with the powder broth or the salt to the taste.
Let boil covered and simmer for 10 minutes or until the potatoes are cooked.
For the meatballs: Mix the ground shrimp with the dough and the rest of the ingredients, make the balls and put them in the caldillo, let them boil until they are cooked.
They are served very hot.
