Ingredients

4 portions
  • 4 beets
  • 4 cups beef consommé, or vegetables
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice, or 1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • 1 a bit fresh dill, chopped

Preparation

Heat the oven to 210 degrees Celsius.
Wrap the beets in aluminum foil and bake until tender, about 30-45 minutes.
Allow to cool and then peel, cut into strips or julienne.
In a medium saucepan put the consommé to boil, add the beets, garlic, sugar, lemon or vinegar and salt pepper to taste.
Cook over low heat for 10 minutes.

PRESENTATION

Dill chopped to decorate.

TIPS

It is served hot and cooked potatoes can be added.
