  • 250 grams lard, (for the masa)
  • 500 grams Corn masa mix for tamales, (for the masa)
  • 1 cup chicken soup, (for the masa)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda, (for the masa)
  • 1 teaspoon salt, (for the masa)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper, (for the masa)
  • 1 liter Water
  • 500 grams green tomato
  • 5 serrano peppers
  • 1 clove garlic, without a shell
  • 1/4 onions
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 2 pinches salt, fine
  • 1 pinch black pepper, milled
  • 1 boneless chicken breast, cooked and crumbled.
  • 10 corn leaves, for the tamal soaked in water.


For the masa, soften the butter with the blender for 5 minutes.
Add the chicken broth to the flour little by little until it forms a masa. (Take care that you do not get it too watery)
Add the masa to the butter little by little and mix. Add the baking powder and season. Set aside.
For the sauce, add the water to a pot and place on medium heat, add the tomatoes, garlic and onion and cook for 10 minutes. Remove the water and grind perfectly in the blender.
Heat the oil in a pot at medium, add the sauce, cook for 5 minutes and season. Set aside.
Take a corn leaf, add two large spoons of the masa, spread it well, add a spoonful of sauce and a spoonful of chicken.
Close the corn leaf perfectly and fold it from bottom to top. Tie it shut with a piece of the leaf so that it does not unfold. Continue until the masa is finished.
Add water to a steamer, arrange tamales and cook on high heat for 55 minutes or until cooked.


Serves on a ceramic tray at the center of the table or upon individual plates.


Put a small coin like a penny, on the bottom, when you add water, so that it tells you when to add water.

Chequen su receta!! En el vídeo dice 125 gramos de manteca y en el escrito 250 y de harina en el vídeo dice 250 gramos y en el escrito 500 gramos por eso a veces no salen las recetas!
