Ingredients

  • 250 grams of lard (for the mass)
  • 500 grams of flour for tamales (for the mass)
  • 1 Cup of chicken soup (for the mass)
  • 1 teaspoonful of baking powder (for the mass)
  • 1 teaspoonful of Salt (for the mass)
  • 1 teaspoonful of Pepper (for the mass)
  • 1 liter of Water
  • 500 grams of green tomato
  • 5 Serrano chiles
  • 1 clove of Garlic without shell
  • 1/4 of onion
  • 3 spoonfuls of oil
  • 2 pinches of Salt fine
  • 1 pinch of black pepper milled
  • 1 boneless chicken breast cooked and crumbled.
  • 10 corn leaves for tamal soaked in water.

    Preparation

    For the dough, soften the butter with the blender for 5 minutes.
    Add the chicken broth to the flour little by little until it forms a dough. (Take care that you do not get watery)
    Add the dough to the butter little by little and mix. Add the baking powder and season. Reservation.
    For the sauce, add the water in a pot and put the medium heat, add the tomatoes, garlic and onion to cook for 10 minutes. Remove the water and grind perfectly in the blender.
    Heat in a pot, the oil over medium heat add the sauce cook for 5 minutes and season. Reservation.
    Take a sheet of corn, add two large spoons of dough, spread them out very well, add a spoonful of sauce and a spoonful of chicken.
    Close the corn leaf perfectly and fold it from bottom to top. Tie it with a piece of paper so that it does not disarm. This is how you all arm until you finish the dough.
    Add water in a steamer, arrange tamales and cook on high heat for 55 minutes or until cooked.

    PRESENTATION

    Serves in mud tray at the center of the table or in individual plate.

    TIPS

    Put a small coin when you add water, so that it tells you the water level.
