Molotes are a dish originally from Veracruz, which consists of fried plantain stuffed with beans, so they are delicious and ideal for any occasion. But with this recipe of molotes, we give a twist to the traditional molotes and fill them with ground beef. To accompany their flavor, serve them with lettuce, cream, cheese and purple onion. We recommend you to grind the mashed banana very well, to avoid lumps.

Ingredients

4 portions
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, finely chopped
  • 4 cups ground beef
  • 1 1/2 cups mashed tomatoes
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 4 plantains
  • 6 tablespoons wheat flour
  • salt
  • vegetable oil, to fry molotes
  • lettuce
  • cream, To accompany
  • fresh cheese, To accompany
  • red onion
  • green sauce, To accompany

Preparation

For the filling: heat a pan over medium heat, add the vegetable oil, onion and garlic, and sauté for 5 minutes; Then add the ground beef and cook 10 more minutes.
Add the tomato puree, season with salt and pepper and cover. Cook 10 minutes and reserve.
For the molotes: cook the banana in water for 10 minutes, remove, peel and puree; Mix with the flour and add the salt.
To assemble the molotes: take two tablespoons of the mash and stuffed with ground meat; Close the molotes and fry for 5 minutes. Withdraw
Serve the molotes with lettuce, cream, cheese, purple onion and sauce.

Yo le agregue pan molido, bastante y fue mucho más fácil hacer las bolitas porque solo con harina no lograba la consistencia, entonces les sugiero que agreguen pan molido.

Le puse montones de harina y nunca logré que tuviera la consistencia para hacer Molotitos. Quedaron horrorosos. De sabor riquísimos, pero de vista muy feos

Se ve rica la receta pero el puré me quedó pegajoso y por más harina que le puse no me quedo. Me quedaré con ganas de probar estos ricos molotes. ☹
