The steak for vegetarian hamburgers: Portabello mushrooms or portabellini. Serve with hamburger bun, lettuce and tomato. This is a satisfying option to consume more vegetables in your diet.

Ingredients

4 portions
  • 4 portobello mushrooms
  • 1/4 cups balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, Crushed
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • to taste provolone cheese, in slices
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • to taste lettuce
  • to taste tomtato
  • to taste onion, in rings
  • to taste avocado

Preparation

Cut the stem of the mushrooms and place them in a oven proof dish with the softest part up.
Mix well the vinegar, oil, basil, oregano, garlic, salt and pepper in a small bowl.
Pour over the mushrooms and let stand at room temperature for 15 minutes, turning twice.
Coat the comal or grill with oil and turn on at medium-high heat.
Place the mushrooms on the grill, reserving the marinade to varnish during cooking. Handle 5 to 8 minutes per side, or until softened. Varnish them with the marinade frequently.
Cover with the slices of cheese for the last 2 minutes to gratin.
Add vegetables to taste: lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado.

PRESENTATION

Season to taste with catsup, mayonnaise, mustard, pickles, jalapeños, etc.

TIPS

Serve with or without bread.
