Making ground beef patties will be a lot of fun with this original recipe for the sports season. With an incredible shape of an American ball, these ground beef patties will be the perfect snack for your super Sunday meetings, with a rich spicy filling of ground beef with bacon and a touch of oregano.

  • 6 slices smoked bacon, finely chopped
  • 4 tablespoons onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 300 grams ground beef
  • 1/4 cups mashed tomatoes
  • 1 Bell pepper, diced
  • 2 Chile Chipotle in Adobo Great Value ®, ground
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Great Value® salt
  • 1/2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 packages Extra Special Goat Cheese® Fine Herbs
  • 1 egg, shake, for varnishing


Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.
For the filling, in a pan over medium heat, cook the bacon until it is browned but still soft. Remove excess fat and cook the onion and garlic right there.
Add the ground beef and cook about 10 minutes or until cooked.
Add the tomato puree and peppers. Cook 5 more minutes. Add the chipotle pepper, oregano and season with salt and pepper. Cool
Spread the discs for empanadas and cut in the form of American balls, with the excess forms the decorations.
Assemble the empanadas, smearing some goat cheese on one of the bases and place some of the meat stuffing. Varnish the edges with egg and cover with another base. Repeat until the filling is finished.
Completely varnish the empanadas with the egg and glue the decorations, so that they look like American balls. Varnish with egg again.
Place on a greased baking sheet and bake about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve immediately.
