Can you imagine a meat pie with corn bread? Now it is possible with this recipe with a delicious and soft corn pie accompanied by meat and gratin with cheese, with an exquisite flavor that only the La Costeña ® Mexican Salsa can give you.

Ingredients

10 servings
  • 1 Cup of wheat flour for the corn pie
  • 1 Cup of cornmeal for the corn pie
  • 1 teaspoonful of baking powder for the corn pie
  • 1 teaspoonful of Salt for the corn pie
  • 1 egg for the corn pie
  • 1 Cup of milk for the corn pie
  • 1/2 Cup of Butter melted, for the corn pie
  • 1 Cup of whole kernel corn for the corn pie
  • 1 Cup of bacon finely chopped
  • 1/2 onion finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of garlic finely chopped
  • 500 grams of ground beef
  • 1 teaspoonful of cumin
  • 1 teaspoonful of thyme
  • to taste of salt and pepper
  • 2 spoonfuls of parsley finely chopped
  • 400 grams of La Costeña Mexican Salsa ® (1 bottle)
  • 1 1/2 cups of Manchego cheese grated

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.
In a bowl mix wheat flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt.
In a bowl, mix the egg, milk, butter, corn kernels and add the powders little by little until you have a homogeneous mixture.
Pour into a previously greased pie pan and bake 20 minutes.
In a pan cook the bacon with onion and garlic. Add the ground beef, season with cumin, thyme, salt, pepper and parsley. Cook for 10 minutes. Reservation.
Chop the corn bread with a fork, add the La Costeña ® Mexican Sauce, add the meat and the Manchego cheese.
Bake for 5 minutes until the cheese is grated.
Serve hot, accompanied with La Costeña ® Mexican Salsa.
