With this recipe for fried patties stuffed with mincemeat you will learn how to make dough for empanadas from scratch. Ingredients

8 portions
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoons salt
  • 1/4 cups oil
  • 1 cup Water
  • 6 tomatoes
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/4 onions
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1/2 onions, finely chopped
  • 600 grams ground beef, beef
  • 1/4 cups mashed tomatoes
  • 2 potatoes, diced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1/2 cups pea
  • 1/2 teaspoons oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 leave bay (laurel)
  • enough vegetal oil, to fry
  • red sauces, To accompany

Preparation

For the dough: In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, oil and water, until you have a masita. Let stand for 20 minutes.
For the hash: Blend the tomatoes, garlic and onion. Reservation.
In a skillet over high heat, heat the oil and cook the onion, add the meat and cook for 7 minutes or until it changes color. Add the tomato puree and cook two more minutes.
Add the vegetables and cook for two minutes. Add the sauce and spices, let it boil and simmer for 20 minutes or until the liquid has reduced. Cool
On a floured surface, form dough balls and spread them, fill with the hash and close.
In a pot over medium heat, heat the oil and fry the empanadas until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper to remove excess fat.
Serve hot and accompany with red sauce.

TIPS

If you want to give a twist to the traditional hash, you can add pumpkin and chayote, it will be delicious.
