With this recipe for fried patties stuffed with mincemeat you will learn how to make dough for empanadas from scratch. The result of this step by step is delicious and has a traditional mince with potatoes, carrots and peas, perfect to accompany them with red sauce, they are a great option for when you want to cook something cheap and very easy.

Ingredients

8 servings
  • 3 cups of flour
  • 2 spoonfuls of sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon of Salt
  • 1/4 of Cup of oil
  • 1 Cup of Water
  • 6 tomatoes
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1/4 of piece of onion
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 1/2 piece of onion finely chopped
  • 600 grams of ground beef beef
  • 1/4 of Cup of tomato puree
  • 2 potatoes diced
  • 2 carrots diced
  • 1/2 Cup of pea
  • 1/2 teaspoonful of oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoonful of cumin
  • 1 sheet of laurel
  • enough of vegetable oil to fry
  • red sauces To accompany

    Preparation

    For the dough: In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, oil and water, until you have a masita. Let stand for 20 minutes.
    For the hash: Blend the tomatoes, garlic and onion. Reservation.
    In a skillet over high heat, heat the oil and cook the onion, add the meat and cook for 7 minutes or until it changes color. Add the tomato puree and cook two more minutes.
    Add the vegetables and cook for two minutes. Add the sauce and spices, let it boil and simmer for 20 minutes or until the liquid has reduced. Cool
    On a floured surface, form dough balls and spread them, fill with the hash and close.
    In a pot over medium heat, heat the oil and fry the empanadas until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper to remove excess fat.
    Serve hot and accompany with red sauce.

    TIPS

    If you want to give a twist to the traditional hash, you can add pumpkin and chayote, it will be delicious.
