These meatballs are stuffed with boiled egg and cooked in a tomato sauce. They are served with white rice and tortillas.

Ingredients

6 servings
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of onion chopped
  • 2 teaspoons of cumin powder
  • 3 pieces of whole clove
  • 3/4 of teaspoonful of Salt
  • 1/4 of teaspoonful of black pepper
  • 3/4 of kilo of beef chopped
  • 1/4 of kilo of Pork Meat chopped
  • 1 piece of egg
  • 1 tablespoon of ground bread
  • 1 1/2 spoonfuls of peppermint fresh finely chopped
  • 2 pieces of egg Hard
  • 1 kilo of tomato
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1/4 of piece of onion
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 1/2 liter of Water
  • 1 teaspoonful of Salt
  • 1 Cup of tomato puree

    Preparation

    In a food processor, grind the garlic, onion, cumin, cloves, salt and pepper. Put in a large container.
    Mix the meats, raw egg, bread crumbs and mint with the processed garlic mixture. Mix well with your hands so that everything is incorporated.
    Cut the boiled eggs in half and each half in 9 pieces.
    Form balls with the ground meat prepared and put a piece of hard-boiled egg inside each ball.
    Prepare the sauce. Put the tomato, garlic and onion to grind. Pass through a sieve and cook with oil and tomato puree in a pan until it starts to boil. Add the water and salt and cook covered for 5 minutes.
    Add the meatballs to the broth and cook another 30 minutes over low heat. Taste the seasoning and rectify the salt. (You can also add a little bit of bouillon powder if the broth is lacking.)
