Chicken Cordon Bleu is a well-known dish of French origin consisting of breaded chicken breast, stuffed with cheese and ham. We take this classic to another level and prepare these delicious cordon bleu meatballs qith ground chicken meat stuffed with ham and cheese, dipped in a creamy tomato sauce.

This innovative variant of the famous dish is perfect for cooking something different and getting out of the routine. The meatballs can be beef, chicken or fish.   • 1/2 kilos ground beef, of chicken
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper
  • 1 cup Ham, in cubes
  • 1 cup Oaxaca cheese, shredded
  • 2 eggs, beaten for the breading
  • 1 cup ground bread, to bread
  • enough oil, to fry
  • 1 tablespoon oil, for the sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped for the sauce
  • 1/2 white onions, chopped for the sauce
  • 5 tomatoes, in quarters, for the sauce
  • 2 chipotle chilies, for the sauce
  • 1 cup chicken soup, for the sauce
  • 1 cup cream cheese, for the sauce
  • 1 cup sour cream, for the sauce
  • to taste fresh oregano, to decorate


For the meatballs, in a bowl mix the ground chicken meat with the salt and pepper to your liking, form the meatballs, stuffed with the ham in cubes and a bit of shredded cheese, reserve.
To bake, dip the meatballs in the egg and cover with bread crumbs.
Heat a pot over medium heat with the oil and fry the meatballs until well cooked. Drain on absorbent paper and reserve.
For the sauce, heat a pan over medium heat with a square of oil and fry the garlic with onion, tomato and chipotle until the tomatoes almost melt. Fill with the chicken broth and cook until reduced. Blend with the cream cheese and cream until you get a smooth sauce.
Serve a sauce mirror on each plate, arrange the meatballs and decorate with oregano.


Serve your meatballs upon a sauce mirror.


Remember that to fry the oil, it must be hot so that it does not absorb the fat.
