Oriental Chicken Meatballs

This recipe for fried meatballs is a new way of eating them, with a completely different flavor than the usual meatballs. This dish is a good choice of food to take to work, because its practicality and size will make them easy to transport. Accompany them with spicy sauce, soy sauce and take advantage of them even as your favorite snack.

Ingredients

4 portions
  • 2 cups ground chicken
  • 1/4 cups onion, finely chopped for meatballs
  • 1/4 cups celery, finely chopped for meatballs
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder, for the meatballs
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch, for the meatballs
  • 1 egg, for the meatballs
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce, for the meatballs
  • to taste salt, for the meatballs
  • to taste black pepper, for the meatballs
  • 1 cup ground bread, for the meatballs
  • enough vegetal oil, to fry
  • 2 tablespoons butter, for the sauce
  • 1 cup spicy sauce, (can be sauce for wings)
  • 1/2 cups orange juice, for the sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey, for the sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, for the sauce
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch, for the sauce

Preparation

Mix the ground chicken with the onion, celery, garlic powder, soybeans, cornstarch, egg and soy sauce in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Gradually add the ground bread while moving, until you get a manipulable mixture. With the help of your hands, form the chicken meatballs. Fry in enough hot oil. Drain and reserve.
In a casserole with melted butter pour the hot sauce, orange juice, honey and rice vinegar; Season with salt and pepper, mix and cook for a few minutes. Incorporate the cornstarch while still moving and keep on fire until it thickens. Cool and reserve.
Serve the meatballs in a take-out bowl, accompany with the spicy sauce and celery and carrot.

PRESENTATION

Accompany the meatballs with raw vegetables, such as carrot or cucumber. Enjoy with orange spicy sauce.

TIPS

If you wish, you can change the bread crushed for oatmeal, whole wheat bread or ground biscuit. You can refrigerate the meatballs for a few minutes before frying them, so that they remain firm.
