Greek Chicken with Lemon

It is for those who wish to follow a low calorie diet they have to prepare this Greek lemon chicken, which besides being delicious is juicy and fresh. Accompany it with steamed vegetables and white rice.

  • 6 chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cups lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 onion, slice in thin rings
  • 2 tablespoons fresh oregano
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 1 lemon, in slices, to garnish


Rinse the chicken and dry it. Remove the skin from the breasts. In a large shallow bowl, mix the ingredients, except for what is going to be used for garnish.
Add the chicken breasts to the previous preparation, marinate for 30 minutes in the covered refrigerator. Heat an electric grill or a stove grill. Remove the chicken from the marinade. Reserve the rest of it. .
Heat the grill over high heat, roast the chicken, approximately 30 to 35 minutes, varnishing it with the marinade where the chicken is marinated, turning it over and cooking it on both sides. (Varnish 3 to 4 times per side).
Add the onion slices, which are in the marinade during the last 10 minutes of the roast time. Serve the chicken with the onion. Garnish with slices of lemon, thyme and oregano.


Put a piece of chicken on a lettuce leaf, accompanied with steamed vegetables. Serve with tomatoes filled with watercress, with mustard vinaigrette and finally add praline. sliced ​​almonds or pine nuts.


The rest of the marinade can be heated and added to the chicken when it is served, but make sure it boils since it was with the raw chicken.
