The classic arrachera cake, also known as pepito, is very rich and ideal to accompany a meal in front of the television this summer.

Ingredients

4 portions
  • 4 Mexican french bread rolls, or telera
  • 1 cup refried beans
  • 1/2 onions, cut in julienne
  • 500 grams flank steak
  • 1 cup lettuce, chopped
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 tomtato, cut into slices
  • to taste red sauce, To accompany
  • to taste pickled chili pepper, To accompany
  • to taste black pepper

Preparation

Heat a grill over medium heat. Season the flank steak with salt and pepper and cook on the grill until it is medium. Remove from heat and cut into strips.
Cut the rolls in half (horizontally) and heat in an oven or on a comal.
Take each roll and prepare the pepito in the following way: First put a layer of refried beans, on them some strips of flank steak and then lettuce, a few slices of avocado, and tomato.
Make the 4 pepitos in this way and serve.

PRESENTATION

Accompany the pepitos of the red sauce and the pickled chiles so that each one adds the amount that I wanted.

TIPS

You can also put mustard or mayonnaise.
