This quick and easy recipe for Pork Chops in Green Sauce is an excellent option to serve as a main course any day you don't know what to cook.   • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1/4 onions
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 8 green tomatoes, in halves
  • 2 habanero peppers
  • 1/4 cups fresh coriander
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 allspices
  • 1/2 cups chicken soup
  • 1 cup cambray potato, cooked and halved
  • 1 cup nopal, cooked and diced
  • enough salt
  • enough black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 4 pork chops, smoked
  • enough corn tortilla, to accompany
  • enough bean, to accompany


For the green sauce, in a deep frying pan heat the oil and fry the onion, garlic, tomatoes and chilies until softened. Add the cilantro, the epazote, the coarse salt, the pepper and the broth, cook for 10 to 15 minutes more or until the liquid is reduced. Cool slightly
Blend the above until obtaining a smooth sauce and cook in a pot for 10 more minutes, add the potatoes and cactus, continue the cooking 5 minutes, season to taste and set aside.
In a pan heat the oil and seal the chops on both sides, season with salt and pepper.
Serve on a plate a pork chop and cover with green sauce, decorate with epazote leaves. Accompany with tortillas and refried beans.

Cook the tomatoes very well until they melt so that the green sauce does not remain acidic.

Creo que están un poquito mal en cuanto a la cocción de los tomates. Es al contrario de lo que dicen... Solo se dejan hasta que cambien de color xq si se dejan mucho se acidifica la salsa. Pero uds son los expertos. Yo esto lo he sabido desde hace varios años!!! Comprobadísima la teoría!! Saludos.
