If you are a person who loves bittersweet snacks, this recipe you will want to prepare. The homemade Chamoy is a delicious sauce, typical of Mexican cuisine. It is very versatile, since you can use it in peanuts, vegetables, fruits, etc.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup of dehydrated apricot
  • 1 Cup of prune
  • 1 Cup of Jamaica flower
  • 3 cups of Water
  • 1/2 Cup of sugar
  • 1 pinch of Salt
  • 1/2 Cup of ground chili
  • 1 piece of orange
  • 3 pieces of lemon

    Preparation

    In a pot add water, plum, apricot and jamaica. Cook for 10 minutes.
    Add this mixture to the glass of a blender and add a little of the cooking water. Add sugar, salt and chili powder.
    Blend the mixture until the desired consistency is obtained.
    Heat this mixture for 3 minutes.
    Once the chamoy is cold, add the juice of an orange and the juice of 3 lemons. Stir and serve.

    PRESENTATION

    Serve your sauce in a deep dish and accompany it with your favorite snack.

    TIPS

    Use the ground chile that you like most, such as: chile piquin, Tajin®, Miguelito®, etc. You can freeze your sauce so it stays longer.
