Asparagus Cake and Gruyere Cheese

This delicious asparagus cake with Gruyere cheese is prepared in just 45 minutes. The flavors of gruyere cheese with asparagus and puff pastry are perfect together!

Ingredients

4 portions
  • 750 grams asparagus
  • 250 grams puff pastry
  • 2 cups Gruyere cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
Flatten the puff pastry and form a rectangle of 40x25 cm.
Place the flat, rectangular puff pastry on a greased baking sheet.
With a knife, mark a rectangle inside the rectangle, delineating the space where it will be filled with cheese and asparagus.
Cook in the oven for 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the grated cheese.
Place the asparagus on top (with the tips previously cut), alternating one with the tip on one side and then the other on the other side.
Varnish the asparagus with the olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper generously.
Bake until the asparagus is tender, about 20-25 minutes.

TIPS

I like to serve it with a reduction of balsamic vinegar. You just have to put balsamic vinegar in a pan and let it evaporate half.
