Beans in Pressure Cooker

These are known as beans from the pot, the grandmothers made them in clay pots and cooked them for hours. In this recipe they are cooked in the pressure cooker to save time.

Ingredients

  • 1 kilo of bean
  • 4 liters of Water purified
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 tooth of Garlic
  • 1 trickle of oil
  • pinches of Pepper

    Preparation

    First clean the beans (remember they have a lot of dirt attached). Put them to soak in purified water, if you have time, let them soak all night, that will make them softer and cook faster. If you do not have time, soak them for an hour in hot water, not in a lot of water, just cover them well.
    Meanwhile, put half the water in the express pot, a little oil, a piece of onion and a clove of garlic. Note: DO NOT PUT SALT, REMEMBER ... NOTHING OF SALT ... because it will make the beans are hard, the seasoning will be given at the end, when you open your pressure cooker.
    Heat the pot over high heat. When the water is boiling, add the soaked beans, with everything and the water in which they were steeped, this will give consistency to the caldito and they will be great.
    Cover the pressure cooker, making sure it is perfectly closed to avoid accidents and put the safety valve.
    When the safety valve starts to sound or let out some steam, you will have to count half an hour if you soaked them all night or 45 minutes if you soaked them for only one hour.
    After this time let the pressure cooker cool down, NEVER LA ABRAS CALIENTE, check the cooking of the beans, that is to say try them, they should be soft but whole, if they were hard you can put the pot 15 minutes more.
    Add salt generously. Beans require a lot of salt to taste good, add it little by little so that you do not go over it.

    TIPS

    If you want to freeze them, let them cool, and put them in half kilo containers, they will last perfect for up to two months if the tapas are good.
