Ingredients

10 servings
  • 250 grams of lard
  • 3 cups of Corn masa mix for tamales
  • 2 spoonfuls of baking powder
  • 1 chicken breast big
  • 1/4 of onion
  • 250 grams of refried beans
  • banana leaves
  • Salt

    Preparation

Beat the butter until it sponges and add the sifted flour with the baking powder, also add broth where the breast was cooked enough to form a soft dough.
The breast is cooked in water with onion and salt. Remove from the broth and crumble.
Heat the beans adding broth from the breast so that a thick sauce forms.
Clean the banana leaves and give them a light boil so that they soften, drain and cut into squares.
On top of each of the leaves put a little dough, put chicken and bean sauce on top and cover with a little more dough.
Close the leaf in four folds so that the tamales are square and flat and tie with strips of the same banana leaf.
Cook for one hour in the steam bath until the leaf unfolds easily from the tamale.
