The traditional recipe for Mexican pot beans. These beans with broth and perfumed with the characteristic smell and flavor of the epazote are perfect for eating solitos or as a garnish for many Mexican recipes. Do not stop preparing them, you will love them.

Ingredients

6 portions
  • 1 kilo black beans
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • epazote, optional

Preparation

You start by cleaning the beans very well, removing all the pebbles and broken beans you may have.
Once clean, put it in a pot with water and let it soak for 2 hours.
Then the water is thrown away, the beans are rinsed and the garlics are browned in the oil in a large pot.
Add the beans to the oil with garlic, epazote and add clean water and boil them.
Once cooked beans are added salt and left a little longer in the fire.

PRESENTATION

Serve in a Mexican pot with a little chopped cilantro to decorate.

ELEMENTOS INDISPENSABLES PARA UNOS EXCELENTES FRIJOLES DE OLLA Creo que para hacer unos excelentes frijoles de olla, se necesiitan otros ingredientes que se omitieron, como son: 1/2 cebolla junto con los ajos y el aceite, y al agregarle la sal ponerle un buen manojo de epazote para darles mas sabor. En la presentacioon ademas del cilantro picado, añadir cebolla finamente picada y si alguien lo solicita chile serrano bien picadito. Tambien no se les olviden las tortillas de maiz recien hechas con un buen guacamole ¡ Buen Provecho !
