Ingredients

6 servings
  • 1 orange big
  • 1 green lemon
  • 1 liter of milk
  • 250 grams of rice
  • 100 grams of sugar
  • 1 vanilla pods open in the middle or cut along
  • 1 pinch of Salt
  • 125 milliliters of whipped cream

    Preparation

    Finely grate orange peel and lemon peel. Set aside.
    Rinse a thick-bottomed saucepan with water but don't dry it.
    Pour the milk and rice in the saucepan, bring to a boil over medium heat. Lower the heat and add the sugar and vanilla, with the grated orange, and grated lemon and salt.
    Mix it well. Let it continue to simmer, stirring frequently, until it is thick and creamy and the rice grains are well cooked. It may take about 30 minutes.
    Remove the vanilla pod and incorporate the cream to assemble.
    Serve the rice pudding immediately sprinkled with a little brown sugar if desired or completely cold.
    Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

    TIPS

    If it thickens when it gets cold, you can add a little milk.

    Vainilla Aunque em Mèxico se "inventò" la vainilla, nunca la he visto en vaina al natural, pero en este caso, usarìa la socorrida "esencia de vainilla". No creo que pase nada.
