Preparation
In a large pot melt the butter and brown the onion and garlic over medium heat for 3 minutes.
Add the tomato, the consommé, the rice, the tomato puree, the English sauce, the pepper, the thyme and the tabasco.
Lower the heat and cook for 30 minutes stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes. Transfer the soup to the blender until it is thoroughly chopped.
Put it back in the pot and cook for 3-5 minutes and serve.
