Ingredients

10 portions
  • 6 cups White bread, hard cut into cubes
  • 500 grams chestnut, fresh
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 4 branches celery
  • 2 tablespoons thyme
  • 1 tablespoon rosemary
  • 3/5 cups butter
  • black pepper

Preparation

To prepare the chestnuts start by making an X with a sharp knife, put them on a baking sheet with 1/2 cup of water and bake at 250 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.
Having done this, it will be easy to peel them while they are still hot and have them ready for filling.
In a baking dish, arrange bread and bake for 15 minutes or until lightly toasted.
In a large saucepan over medium heat, cook the onion, celery and spices with the butter. Cook until the onion and celery are well cooked and add the chestnuts, cook 2 more minutes.
Add the bread and season with salt and pepper and your stuffing is ready to fill your turkey.
This stuffing can be done from 2 days before you cook your turkey.
