The rosti is a Swiss dish of potatoes and is an ideal accompaniment to meat stews. It is served sliced ​​like a cake.

Ingredients

6 portions
  • 500 grams potato
  • olive oils
  • 3 teaspoons butter
  • 1 onion, very thin slice

Preparation

Preheat oven to 190º C.
Wash the potatoes well, put them in a saucepan and cover with water. Put to boil and then lower the heat, cook for 15 minutes over low heat. Drain and let the potatoes cool completely. Once they are cold, peel and grate them, do not rinse.
In an antiaderente pan that can be put into the oven put a little oil and butter and cook the onion until smooth and transparent, add the grated potato, season with salt and pepper, mix a few minutes and then press with the base of a spoon or spatula to make as a thick, flat tortilla.
Brown on one side and put the pan in the oven for 15 minutes, take off and turn in a dish and return to the pan by sliding it to brown on the other side 10 minutes in the oven. Be careful not to get burned because when turning over there may be oil in the pan
Remove from the oven and serve hot.

PRESENTATION

It can be decorated with a sprig of thyme.

TIPS

It is served slicing like a cake.
