The Clam Chowder, or cream of clams, is a recipe typical of the Northeast United States. It is prepared with potatoes, clams, milk and bacon. Delicious for a cold day!

Ingredients

6 servings
  • 3 slices of bacon minced
  • 1 1/2 onions minced
  • 700 grams of potato peeled in squares
  • 1 Red bell pepper minced
  • 3 cans of clam
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1/2 Cup of bottled clam juice
  • 2 cans of cream of corn
  • 1 teaspoonful of dry thyme
  • Salt
  • black pepper

Preparation

Sauté the bacon to brown and drain the fat.
Add the onion and leave for 10 minutes, add the potatoes and pepper, sauté a few minutes and add the clam juice, milk and half a cup of bottled juice. Leave uncovered to cook the vegetables are soft.
Add the can of corn and clams and let the soup thicken. Add the thyme and season with salt and pepper.
Serve with fresh minced thyme.

Deliciosa crema de elote. Lamentablemente es eso, una muy exquisita crema de elote. No debe llevar crema de elote, acapara todo el sabor, aunque mi intuición me decía no agregarla, es costumbre mía seguir las recetas al pie de la letra cuando las preparo por primera ocasión, tendré que modificarla.
