Delicious tuna empanadas with corn dough, this dish is very simple and lucidor. You can use the filling to make them also with puff pastry or in simple flour or corn tortillas, and then brown them with little oil, to see what you think.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams of corn dough or maseca flour
  • 1/2 teaspoonful of Salt
  • 1 can of Tuna
  • 2 tomatoes chopped
  • 1 piece of onion finely chopped
  • pickled chili peppers to taste
  • canola oils to fry
  • creams
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • sauces of your choice

    Preparation

    To prepare the tuna, heat the olive oil in a pan and season the onion until it is transparent.
    Add the chopped tomato, start to cook a little losing its shape and change a little color.
    We add the drained tuna and season with salt and pepper to taste.
    Add chilies in vinegar well minced, and a little of the same vinegar, let consume the liquid, remove from the heat and wait for it to cool.
    We knead the corn dough and add a little water and salt; the water is so that it has the necessary humidity to be able to handle it without breaking it.
    With the dough we form small balls, and crush with a tortilla machine, if you do not have no worries, with a flat board you can help, just remember that in both cases you must put the dough ball on a box of plastic bag and on top of another plastic box, this in order that when you flatten the dough does not stick to the table or in your case to the tortilla machine. Roll over, get a small corn tortilla, take off very carefully plastic and stuffed with a little tuna, fold and paste the edges.
    Heat enough to fry and dip the empanaditas.
    Fry the empanaditas in the oil until they brown on both sides, place on absorbent paper.
    Serve accompanied by cream, cheese and sauce of your choice, on a bed of lettuce.

    TIPS

    You can make the dough more fluffy if you add two tablespoons of shortening or butter, and approximately 50 grams of flour, a teaspoon of baking powder and a little milk if necessary, beat the dough and let stand one hour.
