Combine the soy sauce, the mirin, sake and sugar in a pot, let it boil over medium heat.

In a small dish, mix the cornstarch with the water.

Integra with a balloon, the mixture of cornstarch to the soy mixture. Reduce the fire and let it thicken. Add more soy or sugar if needed.
