The hummus is a delicious food made from chickpeas that provides many essential ingredients and nutrients. A serving of 100 g of cooked, unsalted chickpeas contains 27 g of carbohydrates (which helps to provide energy) and 7.6 g of dietary fiber (which is good for heart health and better digestive system function).
Chickpeas also contain vitamin A, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, vitamin B6, folate, vitamin C, vitamin E, and vitamin K.
For this reason, if you want to give your children an original and delicious lunch, try these 5 healthy snacks for lunch.
1) Quesadillitas with Hummus
Place tortillas on a hot griddle and spread Hummus Obela® with Red Pepper, add Oaxaca cheese and a leaf of epazote. Close the quesadillas when the tortilla softens and cook until the cheese melts. Serve and enjoy.
2) Chickpea Crostinis
Blend ¾ cup of tahini sauce with ½ cup of warm water and the juice of one lemon. Incorporate this sauce into Hummus Obela®, mix until fully integrated, and season with salt to taste. Slice a baguette and place it in the oven to lightly brown. Spread each crostini with a bit of hummus and decorate to taste with black olives or sun-dried tomatoes.
3) Roasted Carrots with Chickpeas
Heat oil in a pan and sauté 8 baby carrots for 1 minute. Sprinkle with rosemary, salt, and pepper. Add 2 tablespoons of orange juice and honey. Stir well and cook until the carrots roast or change color. Serve the roasted carrots over a package of Hummus Obela® and share.
4) Ham Rolls with Hummus
Spread slices of turkey ham with Hummus Obela® with Red Pepper, once finished, add a strip of panela cheese to each slice. Then, roll each slice like a taco. Cut it into 3 and place a toothpick (to hold the roll together). Serve them on a plate and enjoy.
5) Cheese and Chickpea Crackers
Spread your preferred salted crackers with Hummus Obela®. On each one, place a piece of Cream Cheese. Form little sandwiches and close them, your family will love them!
