Tamarind Atole

Prepare this warm atole based on corn dough, with a very original tamarind flavor. This recipe with natural tamarind pulp, sweetened with piloncillo and a touch of cinnamon, is ideal to share on a cold day with your family.

  • 1 cup masa dough
  • 4 cups water
  • 3/4 cups tamarind pulp
  • 1 piloncillo
  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • Blend the corn dough with water and tamarind pulp.
  • Pour into a small pot over low heat, add the piloncillo and cinnamon, and cook for 15 to 20 minutes.
