Fig Atole

You may have tried many flavors of atole, but this recipe has a very original taste; it is a delicious fig atole that will leave everyone amazed.

  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1/4 kilos fig, ripe
  • 1/4 cups sugar
  • 300 grams masa dough
  • 1 1/2 cups water

  • Boil the evaporated milk with the water and cinnamon.
  • Blend the figs with a little water and 3 tablespoons of sugar.
  • While dissolving the masa in 1 1/2 cups of water, making sure there are no lumps.
  • When the water boils, add the previously strained masa.
  • Stir constantly with a wooden spatula to prevent sticking.
  • Incorporate the blended figs and the remaining sugar.
  • Move until it reaches a boil and maintain at a simmer.
  • Leave it on the heat for another 10 minutes. Adjust the flavor.
