Agua Loca de Jamaica and Mezcal

This agua loca is made based on an infusion of hibiscus flower and some spices that give it a spectacular flavor; enjoy it very cold with mezcal; together these flavors create an incredible combination.

  • 3 liters drinking water
  • 1 cup hibiscus flower, dried
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 star anise pods
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • ice cubes
  • 1 1/2 cups Mezcal

  • Heat the water along with the hibiscus flower, cinnamon, star anise, and sugar in a pot. When it starts to boil, let it cook for 2 more minutes, remove from heat and let it cool completely.
  • Once the hibiscus infusion is well chilled, serve it in a jar or pitcher with plenty of ice, then add mezcal and mix well.
  • You can leave some hibiscus flowers for serving and enjoy the agua loca de jamaica with mezcal very cold.
