Christmas Fruit Punch

The fruit punch beverage is a traditional preparation during the Christmas festivities. Perfect for the cold of the season. It has a delicious flavor from the different fruits it contains; basically, it involves cutting the fruit and boiling the preparation.

  • 1 kilo sugarcane
  • 5 apples
  • 5 pears
  • 10 guavas
  • 500 grams tejocote
  • 5 liters water
  • 200 grams tamarind pods
  • 200 grams prunes
  • 50 grams hibiscus flower
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 kilo piloncillo
  • 100 grams sugar
  • 2 sticks cinnamon

  • Peel the sugar cane and cut it into sticks.
  • Remove the cores from the apples and slice them thinly, repeat the process with the pears.
  • Cut the guavas and tejocotes into quarters.
  • Heat the water in a pot, add the fruit, and boil for 20 minutes.
  • Add the tamarind, prunes, hibiscus, cloves, piloncillo, sugar, and cinnamon, and heat until the fruit is cooked.
  • Serve.
